Ingredients
- 2 lamb shanks
- 1 onion diced
- 1 glove of garlic chopped
- 1 tin of crushed tomato
- 1 tablespoon of tomato paste
- 1/2 cup of red wine
- 1 tablespoon of lamb herbs or Italian herbs
- 1 teaspoon of salt
Instructions
- brown the lamb shanks in the frying pan or crockpot express, which every method you would normally use.
- set aside while you sate the onion and garlic.
- add the wine and reduce
- replace the lamb shanks and add the crushed tomato, herbs and salt
- cook on low heat for 8 hours or until the meat is coming away from the bone
- Lamb shanks are very fatty so scoop or soak some of the oil from the top before serving.
- Serve with pasta and veggies as pictured or on a bed of mashed potatoes.
